Thread: so my friend thinks im a geek because im into c++

    Usually when I say I program games people think I type in binary directly to DOS (as if I have no operating system) or something. When I say I use C++ and use a program to make games, they think it's a program that says: "choose image for player", "choose level name", etc.

    Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but DOS is an operating system.

    It is funny when people just assume that you can do things because you are a geek, AND they trust you with their computers and stuff.

    Yeah. People assume that pecause I program, I am a computer guru. (Not the case!)

    Exactly the same here. Programming has a wonderful way of making you look smarter than you actually are. Maybe this is half the attraction for some? (Certainly not for me though).
