A friend of mine tried some once long ago... said it gave her f'ed up dreams. Isn't it supposed to be a licorice tasting drink? I hate licorice and so I don't think I'd ever want to try it.

The active ingredient in absinthe is Thujone, which comes from wormwood, (Artemesia absinthum), in this case. It can cause hallucinations, but is better known for causing epileptic like fits and kidney failure.
I've heard similar. I believe that is why it is illegal to manufacture and sell in the US. What I purchased was made in the czech republic.

Can I come over so we can talk about feelings and programming and stuff and I can drink your absinthe?

    PS beer is cheaper
Hahahahaha, you remember that post I see. Sure, why not.

Yeah. I finally tried a shot last night. I went through the motions of soaking a teaspoon of sugar, lighting it and letting it burn for a minute, then mixing it in. I then sipped the drink from a 'fancy' glass. One shot did me in quite well, and I certainly felt great for a long time after but I did not experience anything other than the alcohol, that I noticed. It tasted absolutely horrible, quite literally like I was burning a hole through my throat, but I enjoyed it I don't believe I have the cajones to take a straight shot of it however.

I love the ritual of burning the sugar. For some reason it just feels like a sophisticated and classy drink, but bad-ass at the same time.
I'm not immature, I'm refined in the opposite direction.
