Thread: Only complete retarded morons disable right click

Is it just me, or is the disabling of right clicks on a web page simply for the sake of showing off the fact that someone can insert java code, or does the jerkoff actually think someone is going to steal his precious html made with geocities page builder and images made with paintbrush. It doesn't matter most of the time. People who disable right clicking on web pages are pompous arrogant pricks with so many self dillusions about their "l33tness" that their head is so far up their ass, it's coming out of their mouth again.

Sorry, hope I didn't offend anybody, this is just my honest opinion.

Bah! All talk. 99% of the time, some tiny script kiddie is trying to learn how to implement some html tag; besides, imitation is the best form of flattery. I'd like to see one such example of a webpage that stole your code, then I might think differently.

Hell yeah I would, unless I designed them for some company who claimed IP to them. Besides, it'd be a display of my work, without having to pay advertising fees. If it's site hits you're worried about (and someone else might get many hits from your "high end graphics"), then you should rethink the reason for displaying stuff on the web; hit counters are the work of satan. Besides, if you know who stole your gfx, then simply send them an email that says "Hope you're liking the gfx I made, have a nice day."

This arguement has been discussed so much it's starting to get boring.

Writing an HTML document/Website is kind of like writing a reference book. It may take you years to compile the information and organize it so it looks all bright and nice, but someone can take your information and use it and you will never know b/c the information you have been compiling has porbably been compiled countless times in the past in one form or another. It's the same way with HTML. All of those funky things you've seen people do, they have no doubt learned from someone else (by viewing their source, maybe) and they have learned from someone else, on-and-on-and-on until you get down to the first person that has ever used it.

I learned frames by looking at source of frames pages.

My friend learned CSS through looking at the source of some more complex websites.

It isn't as bad as you people make it out to be. Without the view source option, the amount of people that are able to do more advanced things would die, and you'd have more bullcrappy looking webpages that are slow and poorly designed.

I'm not saying that open source is good; i'm not saying open source is bad. I'm just saying that it shouldn't be complained about to too much of an extent.
