Well, let me explain my computer setup first. I have a raid-0 setup with 2 WD raptor drives(w00t!). I have a partition of 15gb for windows and any drivers I need. I then partition the rest of the space (126gb) for everything else(games, documents, pictures, source code and libraries).
I let a kid that was over on my comp because him and my bro wanted to play a game, so I figure whats the harm...install a game and play it? Well I went off to work and when I came home, my hard drives were whiped. Not just the windows partition, the one that did not need to be deleted. On top of that the sata/raid drivers got un installed so I had to reinstall that just so windows CD would recognize the raid array. He had left them seperate and made a partition on one of the hard drives for windows. Thankfully he didn't install windows, but he left my comp at the partition section of the windows CD. Thankfully he had left then or things would have been messy.
I ended up deleting his partition, reinstalling the sata/raid drivers and reinstalling windows. After that I had to get everything again, all of my drivers...and I have a lot, took me about an hour and a half to install. After that I had to reinstall all of my old programs, at least the ones that mattered at the time.
Now, I bet your wondering what was wrong? A freeking error when he booted up. Did he try to reboot? Nope, did he try to reset BIOS? Nope, did he try the windows repair? Nope, he just went ahead and deleted BOTH partitions, not just the one he might have needed to reinstall, but he deleted the one that didn't need to be deleted! The one with all of my games and everything else on it! On top of that he somehow got rid of my raid setup so I had to fix that...I love it when nubs try to fix things, maybe he should have just called up AOL tech support for moral support and whined to them, I am sure they know him by name by now.
