Het loopt nog geen storm met bevestigende antwoorden... maar er is nu tenminste \'e\'en andere nederlander hier...

    groetjes,
    alex

( @ ober5861) I guess that most non-dutch-speakers understood quite well that I meant that I am dutch too. This thread is off-topic anyhow.

    I am genetically dutch.

My grandparents could speak dutch. My mom knows a little. I do not speak it at all.

I believe that I am the 4th or 5th generation here in the U.S. My parents grew up in Michigan- where there is a large dutch population. In Holland Michigan they have a large tulip festival. A common saying in that part of the country is "if you're not dutch, you're not much"

Anyways- just wanted to say hi.

I've never heard that before... Then again, I'm more-or-less full blooded German, so maybe I'm being left out of the loop intentionally. Holland's a really nice little city - I've never been there during the tulip festival, but one of my good friends goes to school there. It's a gorgeous campus - one of the best I've ever been to.

The Holland that Theologian and I were talking about is a city in the state of Michigan, and is about an hour and a half from my house...
