God I hate the QVL of memory modules for ASUS A8V-E

    Here is the rap:

I bought ASUS A8V-E and Corsair Value Select Dual Channel DDR 400 1024MB (2X512), and I'm afraid that there is no support for dual channel configuration on my motherboard for that particular memory module.

I got no case yet so therefore I cannot test it out yet.

This is the official list of supported memory types for that board (from ASUS): http://usa.asus.com/products/mb/qvl/A8V-E_Deluxe.pdf

On that table Corsair Value Select DDR 400 512MB is not supported as dual channel mode!? Could this possibly be incorrect? Would I have to return the memory?

I mean come on, Corsair, such a popular name must have suport for dual channel on such board from a manufacturer like ASUS.

    Thanks!

This should be in the Tech Board... but:

You should always check your mobo for supported RAM before purchasing. And yes, you'll most likely have to send it back, but I'd at least wait until you can test it before you do so. Chances are it will work anyways.

And FYI, Corsair has fallen from the "top" competitors over the past few years.

    Hum,

    http://compatible.corsairmemory.com/...1#othermodules

if you look at the link above, scroll down and you'll see that in Corsair tables my modules are suported.

Yet, in the mobo manual it still states that there is no support for dual channel

but I'd at least wait until you can test it
yes I think I'll do that!

It is still wierd how Corsair and ASUS state their facts, maybe ASUS just didn't update the list - since the mobo is new!

Also, keep in mind that they don't test ALL memory modules, so it's often safe to assume that if you have the right TYPE of RAM, it should work.
