    Trouble with new monitor

So my 21" monitor just died and I bought a smaller 17" one. Well, whenever I start with my video driver's previous settings (resolution 1600x1200) this new monitor cannot handle it. So, I have to start in safe mode, but nothing I do actually changes the resolution my ATI driver will start with when I start normally. Not sure what to do

does your mother board have a VGA slot? you could plug the monitor in there, boot up, change your cards settings, then plug the monitor back in to the video card.

Uninstall your drivers in safe mode, reboot in normal mode and then reinstall your drivers.

I just held down F8 went into VGA mode as startup and changed the settings like that, which worked.

Thx for the replies though *thumbs up and teeth-flashing corny grin*
