    Paul Van Dyk Show

I'm posting this here as well, because there is many more European posters on cboard - I wonder about their comments; especially the people who've ever seen him perfom.

The concert was ........ing insane! Best "electronica-type" show I've seen in the states thus far. We got to the place at 10:30, got a few drinks, and went into the main stage. We caught an hour of the warm-up DJ. Don't know his name, but he was decent - the only thing I didn't like was he kept the crows in anticipation too long (i.e. long periods without any beats - I hate being teased!).

PVD came in stage right after 12, and the party really started. Holy ........ was it awesome. His typo of music, really dark and heavy trance, is perfect for frustrated America. You could really feel the energy in the room. People were really into it. My buddy and I were really going crazy, until, around 2:30 when I had no more power left, after 9 hours of work before hand.

The Video Dj was really good too - lighting was unbelievable. The venue overall was great too - basically a theater without any seats - really dark.

Couple other observations: a guy about 5 meters away from me puked around 12 - ew; I must look like a drug dealer, because I was asked for ecstasy 5 times and 3 times if I was rolling; why do people need enhancements to have fun? I had two drinks at the beginning of the night (I was the driver) and I was having a ........ing awesome time being completely sober; more then half the crowd was rolling on e; I saw a guy shoot up right in front of me - twice.... I'm not sure how these fools got the drugs in, since the security check was pretty thorough - they even broke one of my cigarettes to see if it wasn't laced....

I usually leave everything at the car, except cash and ID, so my only memorabilia are the tix:

    hey Axon,

We like the same type of music (but we knew that already )
I've been this weekend to Sensation white edition in Antwerp.

it's not as big as Sensation in Amsterdam but it was cool.
I took my camera with me:
    Sensation1
    Sensation2 (the dresscode was white
    Sensation movie (5MB)
Sensation movie (6MB) nirvana fans will like this
I've taken about 460 MB of pics and movies that night
I've never seen Paul Van dyk live but I want to
But I've seen Tiësto live @ innercity, that must count for something .

edit: I have to cut back on the smilies

damn, that looks like some show man! next time I'm in Holland we'll have to hit something up maes.

I saw Tiesto last year, but he wasn't very good - actually the atmosphere was not good; his music is too mellow for America...there was no energy - it was obvious he wasn't having fun. His set was only an hour and a half....

I love Tiesto, don't get me wrong - the thing is he isn't good in America...people were not giving him any feedback. I wish I could see him spin in Europe....maybe one day.

Hey Maes, I might hit up Ibiza over the summer with a couple of friends (first going to Madrid for a few days)...would be cool place to meat up.

So Maes the great beer is still around , thought you wandered off or something .

Great to read some of you again knowing that at least there´s another Belgium dude who shares the joy of Cboard .

Guess you have just been lurking around all the time,

btw dj tiësto just rocks, although im more the kind of guy that listens to "foute schijven mixes" (translated to english: something like - wrong song mixes ... - ) .
