Haha, that's an amazing post I agree with you about the Java stuff, it's so incredibly hyped up especially in schools that most people are just riding a "Java" wave without really knowing the facts behind anything. I've used Java before, I actually even took a class on it, but I don't like it very much. When I tried it last, I found myself very limited by a lot of things, such as being forced to use classes *all* the time. In my mind that just seems like a lot of wasted overhead.Originally Posted by Prelude

As you might imagine, freesoft_2000 and I don't get along very well.

Nice post prelude but still C sucks
Woop?
Can you possibly get any less intelligent than that?Originally Posted by hivework

Fine, that's okay. I can't be expected to enlighten every heathen who can't see the stupendiferousness of C.

Hehe nice.
Woop?
How did C get to the top of the list?
I have looked for a C job for over a year with only one being advertised (unless embeded)
>>Don't make me go Narue on you.
Ahhhhhhhhh.
Not as in 'NARU' the island made of bird guano (s**t). Except they have dug most of it up.
That Australia uses/d as the 'Pacific Solution'. People from Iraq and Afghanistan came to Australia illegally (during an election) and ended up at Naru for three years and counting......

I prefer C over C++. Don't ask why, I just do. I am actually learning Java right now and here is what I think. It is good for rapid application developement and obviously it's portability is a plus, but not only do the apps run slow they take forever to compile. Oh and Java doesn't have pointers! I was shocked when I heard this

Embedded C isn't usually all that different from normal C - any specific reason you're not looking for those?

Because embedded programming jobs usually require that you know electronic engineering as well.
