    Board suggestion....

I was browsing the board today looking for a post I responded to and couldn't find it. So I went to my userCP and still found no way to get to this thread.

The only way to find the thread was to go to the members list, click on my name, and click on see all posts by Bubba.

It would be nice in our control panel if we could see threads we have responded to, not just subscribed to. This would be very useful and you could stop it from polluting your cp by simply displaying the ones from the last day, 7 days, or 30 days.

Either that or perhaps my subscribed threads thingy isn't working right.

    Comments?

Couldn't you just use the search? Search by your username, and sort by date?

Yeah but if everyone else can click on my name and click on See all posts by Bubba or See all posts started by Bubba, then in my cp shouldn't I be able to do the same w/o having to look up my own name?

For those of us that don't post a lot, it's sometimes tough to find one of your own posts again. However, I kind of doubt that Bubba has this problem. I agree; it would be handy to have that kind of utility in the User Control Panel.
If I did your homework for you, then you might pass your class without learning how to write a program like this. Then you might graduate and get your degree without learning how to write a program like this. You might become a professional programmer without knowing how to write a program like this. Someday you might work on a project with me without knowing how to write a program like this. Then I would have to do you serious bodily harm. - Jack Klein

I kinda agree with govt here... the board search already has that built in... and putting it in the CP could lead to excess queries to the database... being in the search makes sure you're actually looking for the information, and if you put it in a sidebar link from the user CP, you have to follow the same amount of steps to get to each:

search -> enter username and hit enter
userCP -> click link and wait for results

you could have a button in the CP that just launches a particular search (by that users name). Kind of like the way "New Posts" works.

This is a mute point since I hardly ever see more than 20 people on at one time. Besides not all 20 of them or 40 of them or whatever are looking at their user cp and/or would be using the feature simultaneously. Linking it to an auto board search with your name is no different than providing a board search - I don't think any extra overhead would occur.

Your (Bubba) level of education is too low to bring a matter of this gravity to the members of the board. Your case is hereby dismissed and any further references to the idea will be considered heresy and are punishable by death at the sole discretion of the accuser.

Okay so it is a moot point.

Anyways, I see this thread is slowly beginning to drift.

    It was just a suggestion.

    And stick it cheez.
