    Thumbs up Gnome vs. KDE

Please vote and comment your votes.. and what's the difference anyway? Just the different styles? I don't know bout you all, but I like kde's style more than gnome's..

I use gnome when I have a choice. It just feels more naturally to use for me. Although, I did manage to delete my desktop yesterday... So now I'm back to using blackbox.

I much prefer Enlightenment over any other WM.

After having nothing but problems with Gnome (I especially hate the broken session management) I now use KDE exclusively.

I was losing faith in both for a while. KDE I think looks nicer, but has since become very feature heavy (though I wouldn't go as far as saying it's bloated) and I've pretty much dropped it. Mainly because whenever I would update KDE, something would break. I can't recall ever being able to update any of the 3.x series without the sound going kaput and not have to dig deep to correct / fix it.

Gnome I was about to drop as well, until 2.10 came out and has fixed all the problems that bugged me about it, so now I'm quite happy with it.

I know there are several WM's out there that do a fast, wonderful job; however a simple window manager isn't enough. I need a full blown Desktop Environment, so I stick with gnome.

I usually use Xfce, fairly nice "lightweight" WM. Pretty decent on looks, and not that "bloated" so to speak.
