Sounds interesting..might have to run it at full when I sleep just to see what my beefy comp can do!

You can keep an eye on jverkoey's sig for updates.
Why the discrepancy between his sig and this?
how do i set the cpu priority reall high while i go on vacation the next 8 days (console version)
Hmm
Because jverkoey only updates his sig every once in a while (once a day maybe?)Originally Posted by kermit
Not sure about the console version... I use the GUI version.
Ah ok - well that makes sense - would not want to kill their server having it update automatically, say whenever somebody loads a page which jverkoey has posted on.Originally Posted by ober

I am expecting to have my first work unit done at around 2 this morning, if it keeps going at the current rate (its been like clockwork so far) - that will make it roughly 33 hours of my machine doing about 95 - 99%..

I'd think that it would work fine on it's own as long as you weren't doing other things...if you really want to make sure though:Originally Posted by b0bdole
Press control-shift-Esc, then select processes, find the Folding at home program (mine is FahCore_78.exe), right click on it, and you can set priority there...I wouldn't mess with it, but if you do, don't set it above high...your computer might actually need to do something else...like virus scans....
I'm in, but a 600mhz celeron isn't much of an addition is it? :P
To code is divine

All computers can contribute to Folding@Home. However, if the computer is too slow (eg wasn't bought in the last 3-4 years or so), the computer might not be fast enough to make the deadlines of typical work units. In this case, one should run with deadlineless work units.
I had it running all day but my CPU temp went up to 74C, my uptime was 4 weeks but i sacrificed an uptime record to shut down and plug the other 3 fans in.
Now im running at 64 and I'll have this server running folding while im in NC for the next 8 days.
Hmm
if you want to know how we are doing at that moment, you can also check here. it uses almost the same code as the code used to generate jverkoey's sig. it also does pretty well on small devices (cell phone, PDA, etc.)Originally Posted by kermit

Yah, I update my sig about once a day, pretty much every time I check out cboard I'll update my sig, so the most it'll be outdated is probably a day or so.
I'm so stupid... I never fired up FAH after exiting BF2 last nite, so I lost a good 8 hours of processing time.
We're in the top 2% now everyone! Congrats!
I did the same thing...shut down my comp.Originally Posted by ober
BTW...BF2 rocks, get xfire and add Glirk and we can play some games together.
I have been running it for a few hours and am at 131/400 of this WU.
Guess ill leave it on all day, should finish in a few more hours...so it says.
