I also turn off my computer at night (even though it's a distance away, I just can't get used to the noise) But then I don't turn it on in the morning since there isn't a high demand for the (much more powerful) family computer, that I try to keep FAH running on.

And hey, we need some more people if we're gonna crack the top 100

yes... the only differences in the code jverkoey posted and the code in the link I posted is the output string... and I actually found a better way to do it if anybody wants to change the code... right now it hits up this page, but it would be more efficient if it were recoded to use this page. there's less data taken off the server that way, which is better for alot of reasons.

I would... but we wouldn't get the percentage since the second page doesn't give you how many teams there are.

Did everyone else already know about this?
    7. It is easier to write an incorrect program than understand a correct one.

That's pretty sweet. The "Estimated Future Totals" isn't exactly the most useful thing in the world for us right now, though. We're still blowing ranks out of the water. I was surprised no one mentioned that we're well inside the 800th place and still climbing daily.

[edit]In fact, after perusing the charts, I'd estimate that we could climb into the top 200 at our current pace. After that, starting to overtake ranks would begin to be more difficult. We're posting 27,000 a week; most teams currently around our rank are only posting 4,000 a week.

If I did your homework for you, then you might pass your class without learning how to write a program like this. Then you might graduate and get your degree without learning how to write a program like this. You might become a professional programmer without knowing how to write a program like this. Someday you might work on a project with me without knowing how to write a program like this. Then I would have to do you serious bodily harm. - Jack Klein

I just signed up - this is pretty cool. I am pondering reviving my old Athlon 700 - it may as well be doing some work too.

edit:: Ack - that old piece of poo is probably not fast enough..

788 now Congrats everyone, I can't wait till we get to the top 200 if the estimates hold true...

We need to get more people like XTerria to join, then we can make it to the top 100 maybe!!!

What the devil is this? I am too lazy to find a link to read. I may join...but I am too lazy to even figure out what this is.

It's our origami team. Apparently Xterria has quite a few hands.

I'm prety 1337 at origami. I fold my own throwing stars even! Granted I have killed a few people with them. I will try to refrain myself from killing the rest of the team.

Distributed computing. Stanford send you a small protein to analyze and you get points for it. It uses your computer at whatever setting you select (full cpu usage, 50%, only when idle, etc).
