Why don't we have a Java board?

I don't think we should have a Java board. I was just wondering why the admins never decided to make CBoard a more "multi-lingual" place like DevShed.

I'm not suggesting we should at all, I like the pureness of the CBoard (though I don't think the C# board was necessary), I was just wondering why the admins never added them.

I'm not worried that there's no Java board, but I find it very strange that we have C# but not Java. Really, just because one has a C in the name? Apart from that, they're extremely similar.

Because most people search for "java" when looking for a java board.

You need a critical mass to make it anything like effective (just look at how dormant c# is here). There simply aren't enough regular posters here to support that many more languages.

As you add more and more languages, the chances that the existing members will be able to answer questions tends to 0% and the chances that new experts will stick around waiting for posts on boards which seem dead also tends to 0%

C# only happened here because of some stupid popularity contest amongst a few people, most of whom no longer visit.

If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

This is my favorite thread. I think we should make it a weekly thing.

This has been discussed at naussium. More reasoning can be found by searching the board. There are no plans for us to add a java board.
