Holy crap, its forty not fourty

And I've been spelling it fourty for 18 freaking years (since I could spell [apparantly not well] at 3).

What the heck, seriously 4 is spelled four not for. FORGET YOU ENGLISH.

also, the bank made me rewrite my last deposit because I spelled it "Fourty-Seven".

edit: I dont post much because my threads suck.

Wow, I can't believe it caught my eye in that long list as I scrolled through... however you could probably remove hacienda and haciendas from the list.

The strange spelling rules are pretty weird, yes. The strange vowel sounds in English came from what was called the "Great Vowel Shift", where many vowels decided to jump around to confuse us. The "silent e" like in "hate" used to be pronounced, now it's just showing that "a" is pronounced like "ej".
Do not make direct eye contact with me.

You know, things like this anger me too.
    Caramel, for instance:
IT IS PRONOUNCED "Kayr-Oh-mell", NOT "Kar-mull", except in cooking, with the term "caramelized".

Ya, its confusing, but some people don't know how to spell reallllllyyyyy simple words like exercising.

Oh ya, I won my school spelling bee in second grade and my school consisted of first through sixth grade!
    My computer is awesome.

Seriously, though... Online, people don't care about their English as often as in essays and papers. I don't blame them, but you can see the bad grammar and spelling rubbing off into their schoolwork.

I try to spell correctly and use appropriate grammar.

This sucks, Canadian spelling is less portable than American spelling!

Or.. maybe, Canada's spelling is newer, and we're just backwards compatible?
    Just Google It. √
