I've never seen any evidence of Vick's ego besides the media praising him...have you ever read anything he says in his post game interview's etc? I'm not saying he doesn't have an ego - I haven't heard may of his press conferences either - but the ones I have heard have talked about team team team.

Just cause someone is good it is assumed they are an egotistical jerk...

Kermi's right; I've never heard Vick say anything huge, but the media slobbing his knob whenever he does anything a normal QB does is out of hand. "Holy crap, it's a 5 yard pass to Alge Crumpler! Put him in Canton!"

He's pretty much the same as having another RB in the backfield. He's got a hell of an arm, but really doesn't have much in the way of control right now.

    Yep.

edit: To his credit, Vick ran less this season than he ever has before. (except when he broke his leg, heh)

mcnabb has gotten better since he stayed put, theres a reason most qb's run as a last resort. vick looks for excuses to be a RB

I think they give him so much credit because he is one of the few guys who can singlehandedly make a couple of crazy plays to win the game for his team. BUT he is also one of a few guys who single handedly LOSES games for his team as well.

My family lives in Atlanta and they worship him out there. One thing going for him is that before Vick, nobody gave a crap about the Falcons. Now people are fighting for tickets to go see their games.

There's no doubt he's a hell of a runner, but in my opinion a QB's thoughts should be pass first, run later. He frequently looks like he goes to the run on pass plays without even giving his wideouts a second thought. When he does pass it it's usually pretty bad; Philly should have had at least 2 more picks.

It doesn't help that he doesn't have much in the way of receivers, though. Hell, his leading receiver's his TE, which shows either his reluctance to trust his WRs or his propensity to avoid looking downfield in the first place. I'm sure if he could pass the ball to himself he would.

Parhaps, I've judged him too hard - but there are certain players, like Vick, that I simply don't like. Today he looked horrible.

Well to be fair, the guy has NO receivers to throw to besides Crumpler. Price is their best wideout, and he'd be the third or fourth best receiver on most other teams if that, so rarely is looking downfield even an option. Give him a Terrell Owens and he could very well start throwing downfield consistantly, then again maybe not.

Brian Finneran's not too terrible, and you've got a point, but if the ball doesn't even get there it can't really be considered the receivers' fault. Granted, I haven't watched more than 2-3 Falcons games this season, but in the ones I watched I saw Vick make bad decisions and bad throws.

    &*#$ing Steelers I hate NE.

But now I'm torn: I can root for a team with a former Michigan Wolverine at the helm, or I can root for the team that could pound the snot out of the team that pounded the snot out of my team.

Ahh... the problems faced by a dejected NFL fan.
