    Unhappy Sams Books

Is there anything wrong with Sams books. I told somebody that I used Sams teach youself c++ in 21 days and the gave me a bad reputition point, telling me never to tell people to buy sams *** books. I didn't even tell him to buy it

I hear they teach some bad habits such as void main, etc... but I like them. There have been several threads on this recently. Do a board search.

I have the Sams Teach yourself C in 21days I found only minor things wrong, nothing to do with bad programming habits. Its also a very good and easy read as well.

    [edit]
There was also never any mention of void main() in a program example however it was stated at the very start of the book about avoid using it.

Sams Teach Yourself C++ in 21 days........good book to some extent some chapters though just throw you off, I remember when I was first learning about streams, that chapter 17 I believe it was, and the linked list example on chapter 13 (HORRIBLE). It's a great reference book now. Although I don't really program in C++ that much anymore , I wanna start programming in C++ again though along with other languages, I've started to forget the little stuff I knew.
There are some real morons in this world please do not become one of them, do not become a victim of moronitis. PROGRAMMING IS THE FUTURE...THE FUTURE IS NOW!!!!!!!!!

Left cprog on 1-3-2005. Don't know when I am coming back. Thanks to those who helped me over the years.

SAMS Teach Yourself <insert subject here> In 21 days/24hrs are decent books. I am at a loss as to why mentioning them would bring you a bad rep point.

Anything from SAMS is pretty good. However I'd probably recommend SAMS C/C++ Primer Plus books over the 21 Days books.

Some people are anti-[insert random thing here] and feel that if you do something that they don't like, then you're a complete idiot and should go kill yourself.

Don't worry. I'm not that way.

I must admit the title is wrong, i was never going to follow it by the day and learn it in 21 days, but I can't believe that people would hate it enough to have a go at me for mentioning it
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left.
