Allright, currently 3 volume box set on amazon for $125. So what do you people think, good deal, not worth the money, ect. Just looking for opinions on those who have read it / heard maybe more detailed descriptions.

Well, they cost about :: pulls out copy :: $55 each. 55 *3 > $125, so price-wise, it's a nice deal.
Now, I guess the only question is how willing are you to delve into intense and dense, math-filled algorithms.
But, as Prelude once said, it's worth it just for the major "Geek Points" you get for owning them. I've got the first two, and I always want to get the third, but I keep telling myself I should probably read through the first two before blowing money on the last one.
I am willing to actually go through it I was just wondering about whether or not it was actually worth it. I am unsure about the exact content. (I've read through some algorithm books before and I wasn't exactly impressed by some of them and very pleased with others. Thats my biggest problem is I can't thumb through it before hand.)
BTW I heard you get even more "Geek Points" if you have that laying around with the Red Dragon book.

Yes. However, you have to work to get the full benefit. If you want to use any of the algorithms, you have to translate them into real code, and depending on the language, that could be difficult. You don't have to have a mathematics background, so don't let all of the analysis intimidate you.
The best part is that I have yet to find any errors in either typography or content. You can be comfortable in assuming that if anything doesn't work, it's your fault in the implementation.

For the record andy, when prelude answered your pm and told you to ask me, its because i was her and she was me, and i didnt know how to answer your question. The prank, however, ended in between you pm'n her and then me.

Now I wasn't going to make this a thread originally because I figured many people wouldn't be that interested so instead I tried to PM some people I thought maybe had read this series.
Unfortunately the only response I recieved was from Prelude (thanx again). This coupled with the fact that the other PMs I sent haven't been answered either I was just wondering if I am violating some PM etiquette that I am not aware of? Or have I simply just ........ed people off? If I have just let me know, I'm a big man, I can take it.

A bunch of us played a new years prank on the forum by switching accounts. For example, i was prelude for a few days and she was RoD. This may account for why you have not gotten any responses. I didnt know how to help you when you PM'd prelude, because i was the one to recieve the PM. So i told you to PM RoD, who at the time was prelude. Follow me? Its a funny mess eh.

Well thanx for the explaination. I was just concerned over the fact that the other PMs I have sent out recently about board policies and whatnot haven't been replied to and I was just wondering what the deal was. I generally do not like to make a thread that has such a limited scope such as asking about what should/shouldn't be included in code for topics which can be easily used by script kiddies and other stuff about board resources and whatnot.
Just wondering if there was some rules I missed or something along those lines about PMs. I generally do not like to use email addresses if I do not have good repertoire with people (which is everyone here)
BTW - I went ahead and ordered the books based off of Prelude's suggestion and some other reviews I have read.

I would check to make sure you sent the messages to the proper people. Such as Kermi3, webmaster, fordy, govtcheez, salem, etc. These are all staff and can help you with questions regarding policies. Some are on more than others, such as govtcheez and kermi3.
Well in order not to post more threads on PM topics all just use this one.
Any idea why we don't have any Win32 tutorials on this site? I know there are people here knowledgeable enough to make some. This would help when it comes to some of the questions in the Windows Programming board as well as get more people on the right path into the 'intimidating world' of windows programming. If anything it could provide them with enough knowledge to ask the right questions.
