to further the seizure... set my avatar as a tiled wallpaper... where can i get a program to do animated gifs? thanks.

Try Flash 5, it get the stuff to do a animated gif image.

I tried dl the trial version of flash... I really want to add flash to my webpage... but it was so complicated! It sure LOOKED easy on other people's webpages... *sigh* or it is me that's stupid....

You can use jasc animation shop, comes with jasc paint shop pro... 30 trial period, but it seems that it will still go on for 60 days AFTER trial period, so stupid... That's what the message says on my copy right now... I'm on my 31st day of trial period...

Well...First of all, my favorite animation program is "Ulead Gif Animator". It isn't the most functional, but it gets the job done. There is a wizard, so all you have to do is add all of the pictures, and then set the fps, and you are done. I also use this program to convert JPEG's and other files into GIF, so I can view it with paint.

Okay, the second point...FLASH! I love Flash, it's the best thing to have happened to the web next to javascript. There are many cheap books that you can buy. It's actually very simple, it just requires a lot of creativity and thought.

Oh, I forgot to ask. Are you sure that it is possible for a desktop wallpaper to be animated? I've never tried it, but it doesn't sound like it will work...Oh well, good luck with the seizures!

Oh ya, and I forgot to mention GIF Construction Set. It is really simple program that is really easy to learn to use... It is an evaluation version but you don't have to pay for it unless you want to.. It runs forever, it's just that there will be a message with your animation saying that your program is not registered... But you can't see it when you put it up on the net... It is pretty good... And it lets you open each frame with Paint and edit with that... Obviously Paint doesn't do much, but I'm not sure if you can change the default program to some other ones...

i'm under ME, and i just did it like regular, it did prompt for active desktop... i was surprised, about this as well as that htmls could be used as backgrounds... i use ulead photo plus for my scanning / or halo desktop imager... both since i'm used to them... any freeware type things? thanks!

My MSPaint can do that... It came with my comp tho... I don't know if you can upgrade that... I doubt it... The old versions can't... Well, I guess you already know, huh? Oh well...

yes, it would be nice to use MSPAINT with gif and jpg support, my computer has it, but every time I try to save to a format different from BMP, it says it is low on system resources and paint says goodbye. is there any fix apart from system upgrading?
