As Blizzard stated that you would NOT be able to play on US servers using a european version and vice versa, I will be on in January using a badly translated german version. Every other game in the last decade had no problem with this, UO, DAOC, SWG... just WoW. Not a good head start Blizzard...

When in doubt, read the FAQ.

    localized servers annoy everybody.
many guildmates of mine won't be able to play with me because of it....and frankly, that really sucks

nvoigt, a couple people from another forum I visit are using a US version in Europe. But from what they have said it's a little tricky because they'll only accept credit cards with a US addy. They did get around this though I'm not sure how. I've also heard that pre-paid cards are coming out this week so you could use them instead.
And of course if you need US based help I'm sure you'll find some people here willing to help

Ya, an online friend of mine was buying three copies of the Collector's Edition and was sending em out to her European friends...I forgot to ask her how it turned out.

I'll just wait for the German version to play with my friends here. I just wished that one version would let me play on a server of my choice, but as it stands, Blizard does not guarantee it.

Anyway, Pirates! being mailed right as I write this, so I'm looking forward to an ultimate retro december. When is the silver train in town again ?

I play, level 27 human priest on skullcrusher (eastern pvp). Unfortunately my software engineering project is on the backburner due to this game... sigh. I knew I shouldn't have started playing before the end of the semester...

I definitely plan on buying it, but I'm trying to wait until after exams are over, otherwise I'm gonna do horribly. Guess I'll just put it on my christmas list and hope someone gets it for me.

    >>wait until after exams are over<<

my list of "to do" things after finals is growing everyday. Now I don't know whether to get wow or hl2...I'm afraid that if I get wow next semester will go pretty bad

I'm on a co-op term next semester, so I'm safe.
