Just burn that to a cd, make sure your computer's loading the cd drive first on boot, and pop the disc in there and it'll automatically start up. It takes a while (kinda like defragging....except this actually fixes your disk)

Yah, I know, because all it contains is an autorun and the repairer program. The program's dos-based....so...I mean...there's no reason for it to be big....and it only does one thing, it doesn't have any huge menus or anything.

I can't wait to leave my parents house and go back to my apartment to try this on a HD that just crashed. Dobt it'll work though because I can hear the head scratching the plate.

My hard drive is so messed up it fines 6 bad sectors in the first 0 mb that has 5 sectors???? then it locks up..... ran WD diag tools..... says drive has too many errors??? OH WELL! paper weights are awesome.

My friend's running it on his 60gb hard drive and so far it's found 5223 sectors that it's repaired, and this is at about 17 gigs out of 60
a low level format will fix most drive errors including sectors marked bad that are truely not bad...

dont bother... just throw it away.... when you hear it... you know its bad... dont need no software to tell ya that.

any scratching, clunking, banging, tinking, anything is usually a bad sign... loud whirring may or my not be... lot of it depends on the drive....

The reason why you don't hear anything on your Seagate is because you were screwed. From my experience all they do is rebadge broken drives. Unless they actually build them like that?
I had a 10GB Samsung a little while back that seemed to have a problem starting up. Giving it a whack on the side with the handle of a screwdriver got it spinning though, and it never had any bad sectors.
