Do not make direct eye contact with me.
I believe RoD asked this same question a few days ago. Try his method.

Anyone know the pros and cons of WoW vs Everquest II?

World of Warcraft
- Pro: Graphics, they are bubbly and cartoony and match all the predecessors perfectly.
- Pro: Gameplay, as always, Blizzard has reduced the normal 'level-grinding' down to almost nothing.
- Pro: Mobs are rated accurately. Finally a game where if the mob is rated as "even" to me, it doesn't actually kick my butt.
- Pro: Raiding! PvP and raiding with a group of people who actually listen and pay attention can be extremely fun!
- Pro: Guilds, they're easy to create and control.
- Pro: Instancing.
- Con: Method of selling crafts. Currently, as far as known, there's only 1 auction house on each continent, and no method for players to 'display' their wares.
- Con: The auction house. While it is pretty and easy to use, it's barely adequate for doing any real amounts of selling. Auction times are not displayed, no history of items, or how much they sold for, etc etc, all make it hard to determine what the 'going rate' is.
- Con: Lack of control over raid groups. At least give the ability for the raid leader to mute /moderate the damn raid chat channel!
My views: Great game, fast paced, very simple to understand and navigate. One dislike with the game is that the character development can be quite cookie cutter. The talents are pretty liner, and there seems to be preferred path for PVP performance. WoW does at least have a plan for PVP. Though, it's not all implemented, it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun.
Everquest II
- Pro: Graphics, very sharp looking game, especially when you turn up the juice in the settings.
- Pro: Crafting, crafting, crafting. You actually have to pay attention and it is worthwhile to do it!
- Pro: Class subsets. It's enjoyable knowing that you could reach major leveling milestones and still have choices about the development of my character beyond the original class choice.
- Pro: Boat travel, it's great being able to go to a lot of different places via boat, instanteously.
- Con: Flying travel. The griffons, when they were working, looked terrible, had terrible clipping, and seemed slow.
- Con: Inventory control.
- Con: NPC hunting. WoW has this too, but somehow it wasn't so bad in WoW.
My views: Massive world. Your put right in the middle of an epic-sized story that makes you feel as if your are a key part of the shaping of the world. The character development is quite profound, almost to the degree of Marrowind type games (though, not quite so flexible). This game makes you feel that you are in control of your character and can make something unique and interesting. The world is beautiful and find it a pleasure to walk around and explore. Though the death penalty is a bit rougher than WoW, and solo play is getting harder and harder at 13-14+. EQ2 has a really neat web-based character report. You can see almost all aspects of your character from the web site.

Segmentation Fault: I am an error in which a running program attempts to access memory not allocated to it and core dumps with a segmentation violation error. This is often caused by improper usage of pointers, attempts to access a non-existent or read-only physical memory address, re-use of memory if freed within the same scope, de-referencing a null pointer, or (in C) inadvertently using a non-pointer variable as a pointer.

Major Con for EQ2: Sony Online Entertainment
Good to finally get some decent pros and cons of WoW vs EQII. Everything else I read is so obviously biased one way or the other. I've played EQII for a couple of minutes and was just blown away by the graphics and amount of things to do. I've heard so many great things about WoW and how it was going to kill EQII but when I looked at the graphics for WoW I was really dissapointed by the cartoony look. Well, considering Morrowind is one of my favorite games of all time, I think if I get one of the two I'll go EQII.
And cosidering I still have dialup, I don't think PvP is really an option for me
EQ2? Pfft. Have fun with the downtime after each kill. Ta ta.

What is your A.D.D. so bad you can't wait a WHOLE SECOND between kills?

Second that. I've seen them ruining SWG. Don't touch anything they "develop" or "support".

She was so Blonde, she spent 20 minutes looking at the orange juice can because it said "Concentrate."
When in doubt, read the FAQ.
Then ask a smart question.
Well EQ is enough of an example. Once they bought out Verant the game went down hill.

Just curious Thantos. How/why?

Yah but I don't get why they shouldn't be used, the link just gives the specs of tables.... I'm so lost.
