    Herb Schildt was over at JavaRanch

    Herb Schildt was over at the JavaRanch boards earlier this year...

    He was invited to talk about about Java 1.5 changes and his books. He also answered questions from members.

    Why don't we get him or any other guests to discuss and field questions from our members about C, C++ and C#?

    Just a thought...

    I can't tell if you're joking or just incredibly lucky.

    I don't think he'd do it...for more than a few minutes.

    I guess I'm lucky I did a search on his name almost all the hits on the first page were for java books. So I take it he's an author. Don't see why that would make him interview worthy.

    That would be an excellent idea... Then we can all take turns beating the $#!% out of him.
    Salem gets first swipe because of Schildt's use of void main, though.

    Ok I'll instruct the ninja to begin preparing. As an added bonus we'll have them only used rolled up C and C++ standards as weapons.

    But did he actually write all of it?

    I don't think he wrote it all. I was just looking at the MFC books on amazon, and I think there was co-expert on MFC. He's authored a lot of books, however.

    Frank Crockett, MFC specialist and technical writer for Microsoft, contributed to Schildt's MFC from the ground up. Schildt has another window's programming book as well. (With Java, though, you'd really have to try to write nonstandard code!)

    I'm sure he could pull it off:
    Code:
    public static int main(String[] args) { }
