    Excellent!!
This means I can pay my way all the way through grad school after my next trip to the super market!! A little peanut butter, a tortilla for variety... This is brilliant!

Oh yes, and how does the saying go... "Some people have more money than brains. Fortunately, this is a self correcting problem."

If the Virgin Mary cheese sandwich is a little too expensive, you can bid on Virgin
    Mary's used chewing gum
or even Virgin Mary's used chewing gum in a cheese sandwich.

Unfortunately we did not have grilled cheese on that night, so you will only receive the gum. I will be more than happy to answer any questions that you might have.

I'm sure all of you can appreciate how difficult it is to find loose change in a parking lot, much less a Wal-mart parking lot. A true miracle if there ever was one. If you require proof, I will gladly send you a picture of the quarters and my friend.

Yeah, but it's pretty depressing that the people were going to pay $20K for it, though.

Those other two auctions are pretty great.

Salem, the sandwich is obviously protected by God. You don't need to waste a bunch of money on insurance.

Since insurance doesn't normally cover "acts of god", I suppose that amount is worth all the other risks combined.

If your #include <std_deity> (or a small mouse) decides to get all wrathy and make the toast toast, then there's nothing you can do about it anyway.

Oh, and thanks for the tip anonytmouse, I've been throwning away all my used chewing gum. I should be posting it on ebay from now on
I anticipate good initial markets for the items which look like Dubya

Yay, another utterly pointless "X-43A" assisted thread begins its journey to oblivion.

Does that imply it had a meaningful destination to start out with? Or are you forgeting that it's a grilled cheese sandwich being auctioned on ebay for a hundred million dollars?

Let's talk about the X43-A. Will there be any more scramjets, or do you think that funding's all going to go to the shuttle program?

I don't think that much will come of the X43-A work; at least not from NASA. If you look at how great a start they got 40 or so years ago, and then what happened to it, it is hard to get too excited. (Yes, different administrations give differing priority/funding to it, but it has still evolved into a massive bureaucracy with too much inertia to be very effectual). Most exciting stuff will probably start coming from private companies in the not too distant future.
