    Do you believe in God?

We haven't had a good flamewar in awhile, so here goes. Simple question: Do you believe in some sort of supernatural guiding force or a God of some sort?

Hahaha! I was just looking at some of Aprog's stuff on history forum.
The word rap as it applies to music is the result of a peculiar phonological rule which has stripped the word of its initial voiceless velar stop.

All my reading of the archives yesterday made me actually have a dream he came back and I couldn't ban him. Back on topic, though.

    I voted no.

edit: To clarify, I'm of the opinion that since pretty much all scientific evidence points away from the existence of some supernatural being, there probably isn't one. Also, the arguments made by most people choosing to try and discredit things like evolution either willfully twist research, show no understanding of the theories, or simply make things up. Willful ignorance is not something I can take lightly.

    I concur.. No god.

    *edit*
I'm sorry, this isn't conducive to a flame war. How about:
"How can you not believe in God you worthless %#^@ing miserable, heartless %#$@er?!!"

    That a bit better?

Flamewars usually don't start until someone with an opposing viewpoint has actually posted.

Maybe instead of flamewar, I should have said "debate". I haven't gotten to debate this in quite awhile.

Yes... I just was being rather sarcastic there.

    >>> 8 vs. 1 doesn't look like too good of a flame war

From past experience, (oh so many times), doesn't matter how many rational beings you have, it only takes one zealot to have a flame war.

that's true, but I tend to ignore those discussions completely because it's easy to dismiss that one as a complete idiot... especially in a discussion like this where only one side has any real evidence...

Hey now I'm the one who voted for God. Why? Because there is still plenty of why questions that I don't think we'll ever know. Yes we may know a decent amount of how things work but until they can answer why the system is what it is I can't removed a supernatural being from the equation.

Don't like my stance? Well I think Weird Al said it best:
I'll be laughing my head off while you are burning in hell

Echo Thantos. Sure, a lot of stuff has been explained scientifically. That doesn't take away from a variety of things that have occured that cannot be explained that way.

i cannot argue that there IS a god...but i do believe that there is A god. not necessarily the one in the bible, however.

just to give you something to think about: there is no evidence of extraterrestrials, but do you really believe that we are the only life in this universe?
i seem to have GCC 3.3.4
But how do i start it?
I dont have a menu for it or anything.
