Upgrading from XP Home to XP Pro

I have one question. I wanna put XP Pro on my laptop. The default Operating system it came with is XP Home. An upgrade would do any bad !!??

Model I have is Toshiba Satellite A 75-S 206. Some one told me that this Toshiba Laptop shouldn't be upgraded with any newer version of Operation and it seizes to perform if we try to upgrade it to XP Pro.

I tried googling for the answers but in vain. I'll be very grateful to them, If anyone could provide some insights of this problem.

    Thanx
    Kishore

I doubt it will stop working... but why do you want to upgrade to pro... First check out the extra features you will get and see if you will use them...

your confused between PWS (personal web server) and IIS (internet information server) the latter being the good one. i think you can get free ASP ports for other servers. i'm not shure though, and it would probbly be best to invest in XP pro if you have the funds

Thanx for your replies guys. I would like to install IIS. I know PWS is for Win 98 systems and XP Pro comes built in with IIS. No confusion about that. But my laptop came with XP Home. Home edition has no built in IIS. So thats what bugging me

Ps. Hello Vasanth, I am from Andhra Pradesh. But now I live in Chicago.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

No. Install Apache, download the appropriate modules if they're not already available with the base install.

XP Home vs XP Pro has nothing to do with being able to run .NET or a webserver supporting a variety of languages.
