all you physics majors are forgetting that speed is not the only factor involved in figuring out momentum... it's velocity x mass, and a truck with an enclosed trailor containing two cycles has more mass than his car, so even if he was going 30 and the truck was going 10, his car would still have less momentum, and with the high point of impact his car never stood a chance... no matter how fast he was going...

It makes sense though. The truck had more momentum and thus can cause more damage. Even if the other car had been a puddle jumper Rod's car still would have gotten more damage.

And lift-kit's are aftermarket stuff and yes some of them are illegal. Bumpers are not considered aftermarket and as such all OEM parts fall under government regulations, at least that's the plan. Yes they will lower the SUVs and trucks to match with the cars somehow - they are already in the process of doing this.

I didn't contradict myself at all. Not at all in my post did I say RoD's car wasn't affected teh most. I'm saying your reasoning that the truck was moving the fastest is nonsense.

YOu see, momentum is impulse over time, and impulse is mass times velocity. It is very easy to have a slower vehicle with greater mass to have more momentum then a faster vehicle with less mass.

So you see, I didn't contradict myself, you simply misread/misinterprited my post.

And RoD don't get so mad. It's not that I don't feel bad you busted your car and your knee, I don't disagree that potholes that are suposed to be fixed by our taxes caused your accident is sucky. I just don't think the truck was going 30 mph.

He'd find a way to wreck that also. He has the same curse as Tim Taylor.

More specifically the guy on Home Improvements that trys to improve on designs (such as a gas powered in sink garbage dispoal) that end ruining it and making for good comedy for those not involved.

I met Tim Allen in person in 1993 at a race in st petersberg florida. Some sort of street race with a bunch of different races going on. He was driving some sort of car, 11 years ago, cant remember. He wrecked (probably because of coke/alcohol) and was kind enough to give me a signature, then he limped back to his multimillion dollar bus. Fun experience.

edit: i just noticed the relevance to this thread, he crashes a lot like you RoD :-p hah, nevermind
