See, Windows XP is worse than Windows 2000 / 9x / ME / 3.x
Windows XP does not support any lower versions of windows. It cannot create the icons because all the installations uses the Win95 install.
SimCity 3000 cannot run in anything higher than ME, it will say "Error."
Starcraft cannot install in Windows XP.
