I don't see why people live in Florida. Too darn dangerous. Personally I'd rather live there in the winter and live up north in the summer.

One problem with the storm is you may not have any power. No power means no C/C++. But it does mean no school too.

    lol, true

Even though I live in Virginia, which of course has its own beach and stuff, I live on the opposite side of the state from the ocean so I dont have to worry about hurricanes and all of that mumbo-jumbo.

I live in Virginia as well. But once back in I think it was the 60s a storm came through called Camile (sp?). It was only a tropical depression I believe and yet it managed to cause havoc. The reason it caused havoc was it pulled water from the Atlantic ocean and poured it down on the area I'm in. I heard it killed about 100 people in the process.

florida got two this year. usually, we don't get any. It's not that terribly dangerous here.

You could always live where its safe from hurricanes. You know, like Harlem.

    Ivan

    Hey linuxdude,
What school/city are you from? I'm at LSU in BR, and we're still waiting to be let out... But I hear SU is already out... New Orleans is being evacuated...

I wish the school would just let us out now so we don't have to wait until the rain really hits hard...

Oh well.. Good luck to everybody that's caught in the storm, or in the process of running from it. Be careful.
