Woop?
Actually my new PC gamer mag says there are at least 2 games in development who are using Java. Java, IE Sun, is going to try to make Java the language of choice for programmer's because it's cross platform. However, I still feel that Java has a long way to go before any hard core C++'ers are going to switch to it. There is a new graphics API coming out specifically for Java and 2 complete retail games coming soon.
Should be interesting. If you are interested in the article its in the August issue of PC Gamer.
As for scripting languages being a good language for games.....must we revisit the same old topics again and again??
bubba: On the site it specifically said that it wasn't Java. It was javascript. So guess the op was just touting js.
As for rehasing:
not a big deal. Other scripting languages have pretty formidable capabilities too. but whatever....

Im surprised so many people are having problems with it. Ran great on mine. I don't doubt that it only runs on IE however.
c++->visualc++->directx->opengl->c++;
(it should be realized my posts are all in a light hearted manner. And should not be taken offense to.)
I doubt many of you guys could write that in javascript. I was surprised that it ran as fast as it did.
PS: Works fine if you're using IE + SP2.
