Maybe, I never really looked thoroughly. The majority of the "broken" apps are a result of their new firewall.
Apparently, Microsoft is now giving advice on how to block computers from downloading it's own Service Pack using the Window's Auto Update feature. Click here
that's because network people don't want their computers downloading and installing SPII until they get a chance to tweak it to their liking... standard practice...
You'd think that places like that would have autoupdate disabled in the first place.
Well, I'm waiting to download it until a hear at least a couple people tell me I'm really missing out on something great, and I don't think that's going to happen for a while. I doubt it'll magically turn Windows XP into a Linux-beater. It sounds like most of the updates aren't even needed on my part anyway, and won't be used (firewall? I got ZoneAlarm! Popup blocking for IE? Firefox is the best!).
So how do I get it?
I have auto-updating set to notify me first--but nothing yet.
I've visited the MS site, but it seems you can only download it if you are using IE with ActiveX scripting turned on. Is there no easy way to download it?
here's a direct link to the redistributable version.

Thanks for that.
Windows has now asked me if I wanted to download SP2, I clicked 'yes', and heard nothing since. That was 5 hours ago. :)
I'll give your download link a try. Thanks again.
