No I'm not joking. Hackers ruin the internet and ruin programming. They should all be put on a rocket and sent to the moon.
No, crackers ruin the internet and ruin programming. Hackers made the internet and improve programming.
Bubba orginally hacker was a term that was reserved for the most elite computer programmers that would "hack" away at programs until it worked. This was back in the time of punch cards and program tapes. The term has been mutated into what it is today.
Ok.
I remember those days, but they are gone. Now hackers are usually script kiddies who don't know anything about code and who think it is cool to spell their name with ASCII characters.
Isn't the classification
(1) White Hacker (Very Knowledged and uses it for good)
(2) Black Hacker (Very Knowledged and uses it for bad)
(3) Script Kiddy (Doesn't know much, but likes to create mischief.)

the article you posted is pretty good.
I'm half way through and it has some really good info.
I'm not sure why they say that perl and python is the preffered language of hackers. Anyone want to put in an opinion on that?

Actually a Script kiddie usally is the loser type who spends their time on the computer, downloading scripts and executing them at arbatrary and well chosen targets. They pretty much don't have any idea about how the code works, except for what the authour tells them. They Script kiddies. *tut tut*Originally Posted by xviddivxoggmp3
I'm glad you like the the article, but don't get me started on Python. II'm half way through and it has some really good info.

I'm not racist, but the computer world has some screwed up things like that.
For example Master and Slave drive?
That doesn't sound to politically correct to me.

Haha.
It's not racist, though. Master and slave just means that one controls the other :P It's not referring to African-Americans being controlled by Americans.

that brings me back to an article I read a while ago. Pretty funny. and it is on CNN
Forget all that "hat" stuff.. If you're gonna be a hacker, do it for yourself and for your own knowledge.
