Does that mean donut prices are dropping?

    Huzzah!

Cheaper donuts mean more police, thus highering the quality of our law enforcement!

    Just kidding :P

KK's still up almost 20% from a year ago, so I don't think they should be crying into their coffee just yet.

edit: If that's after 2 straight declining quarters, they must have had a hell of a fall and winter.

I assume you are talking about the price of KK's doughnuts. On the other hand, if you are talking about the stock price, well let's just say the chart is not a pretty sight.

I meant this "Despite industry sales trends that continue to weaken, Krispy Kreme's volumes were up in the most recent period, rising 18.4% from a year earlier."

Apparently at 11pm my brain thinks "volume" means "money"

I heard a rumor that Krispy Kreme failed to turn a profit last year. Apparently that's not the case, but I think they're defiantely going to start declining soon. Maybe not to the point of going out of business, but I definately think this is a bit of a fad. I never found them that tantalizing.

Oh, I don't know... they're some of the best donuts I've ever had... but I don't sit around eating them all the time either. I don't get this physique *points to hidden half of six pack* eating donuts. IT COMES FROM OREOS!

If anyone's from South Africa and goes to Gold Reef City that much, try the donut stand right outside the mine - it's been there for at least 15 years so it's not going anywhere, but they make a donut the way a donut was made a hundred years ago... better hygiene of course...

Govtcheez, very interesting to see that sales rose 18.4%. The stock price has collapsed despite rising sales. This may bode well for KK. This Atkins diet is obviously a BIG concern for them, and for other doughnut shops. Perhaps they will introduce a low carb doughnut. Or maybe they already have.

i think the Atkins diet is stupid. why would people ever want to stop eating donuts, cereal, spaghetti, and many of the other greatest foods ever made.

I'm with David, but KK (which I think is a bad choice of initials for them. It's like a children's cartoon company calling themselves XX Animation) is planning on releasing a low-carb donut in October. Bagle?

Yes, I agree with you. But naturally people will try anything to lose weight. And if they can eat as much of something as they want and still lose weight, they'll go for it.
