It's nice that you'll be spending a day killing things before you go to Italy.

Also, I'll be really surprised if this makes that date.,

Personally I just think id's hanging around waiting for Valve to show its hand. Then again, we'd be waiting a loooooooong time if that was the case...

It's nice to have a date in mind, but frankly lots of retailers just pick dates with no real basis. I personally hope to hell it is confirmed and it is the planned release date -- I'd love to play the game, but I doubt it is.

The wait for D3 and HL2 has been a sucky one--if the mods for hl2 wern't so awsome I'd refuse to buy the game on the basis of Valve being a sucky studio for customer relations and its release date shenanigins. But frankly, I can't wait to play cs and dod on the new source engine.

(it should be realized my posts are all in a light hearted manner. And should not be taken offense to.)

You're going on your mission? Where to?

I'm not much of a first-person-shooter player so I don't know much about Doom, but I remember playing it back when I was like 10(which was only 4 years ago, but... you know :P)

But I remember playing Doom 1, a demo of Doom 2, and a demo of Doom 3.

Has it really taken that long for Doom 3 to come out?

Didn't Valve do a near-complete rewrite after the code was stolen a few months ago?

They've redone the networking code to shore it up, that's a fact, as to the rest of it, who knows?

The entire LAN code was revised because of security issues that surfaced once the code was out and being looked at, i guess they got some tips and listened?

Hard to say with the rest of it. ID can wait for valve all they want, Doom3 isnt going to touch HL imo.

yeah, I heard the STEAM code for the game was also bonked. strange that they kept the source code for a multi-million dollar project on a computer directly linked to the web......
there used to be something here, but not anymore
