    Coding Team

    Hey guys,

I was thinking...Why not create a Cprogramming C++ coding team. We could have projects and friendly meetings on irc servers and things. We could also possiby have a contests against other C++ forums. I will need help getting this going. So if you are interested in this idea, post in the thread and we will get things going.

There is already a long discussion on the GD forum about this.

    >We could have projects
These are easy to find, but not here. We're a help forum, not a project forum.

    >and friendly meetings on irc servers
Some of us already spend time on IRC servers. As an example, I frequent EFnet, DALnet and Undernet.

    >We could also possiby have a contests against other C++ forums
I don't see that realistically happening, but it is a mildly interesting idea.
My best code is written with the delete key.

    possibly

Yes I agree. It may not be realistic but if it would be possible to contact another C++ forum, We could possibly use the project idea of the 3d web browser as our entree.

GD != Game Development in that case it means general discussion.

    and many others too.

I think if you're really looking to start such a group you'd have a better chance finding random people on irc and getting them to start a channel with you and then develop up from there. I'm sure if you're dedicated enough you could do it.

If you're going to do a project, I'll give it a shot. I've never actually taken a programming class or had any programming tasks set for me so this would be very interesting I think.

Even though I'm a CProg regular, I DO have a FD account, and I'd use that one in the war.

FYI: My account name on FD is Revolve
