I think that in order to be taken seriously, you cannot be too radical either way, whether it be conservative or liberal (you are welcome for that genius, never-said-before-statement).
I was watching C-SPAN the other day, and noticed Mrs. Clinton as one of the Democratic speakers. I used to believe that she was thinking about running for President because of the fact that she went from such a small state, to being a senator of New York (which seems like an excellent stepping stone). However, I also started thinking how the vast majority of the population would view a female as running for the Democratic party. I don't personally know who I would vote for if she ran (the only Democrat I've ever voted for, when I've voted, was Clinton), but to be fair she might be able to do a decent job. The potential problem she might have is with public image. Basically, what I'm asking you people, is do you think a female would have a better chance as running as a Democrat or Republican?
I know this sort of seems like a silly question, but if you really think about it, it's a valid one. The reason being, public image seems to carry just as much weight as political agenda. If a person is viewed as being too "hippy" liberal, or too "old-school" conservative, then that person won't survive. I wonder if a female running as a liberal candidate, even if her political agenda isn't even all THAT liberal, would have the "hippy" public image, and subsequently be shot down.
Keep in mind I tried to NOT post any of my own personal opinions on the matter (very difficult, holy crap), so give objective responses. Who knows, maybe you think it wouldn't really matter what sex you are, or perhaps you just think I am silly.
