I was only a kid when he was President, so I don't know much about him. But I have read and heard that he was very popular among the people and a good President, and helped to restore America's trust in the office of President after Watergate.

More important. Seriously now, I guess it must be hard for some Americans, I never knew him though.
Hmm, he suffered from Alzheimer's and he was 93? Then "Reagan" probably already died long ago. Alzheimer's kills your brain cells. His personality and memories would have disappeared long before his heart stopped beating.
As sad as it might be to hear of his death it truly is for the best. At 93 he was no spring chicken, and with alzheimer's it would just prolong his family's suffering.
[slight rant] One of our former presidents dies. Per tradition flags are flown at half mast for 30 days. I'm out today and I saw a flag at McDonald's flying at full mast. I so wanted to go in there and beat the **** out of the manager on duty, then I realized it wouldn't do any good.[/rant]
RoD you are just being annoying again I hope.
Mcdonalds needs an ass-whooping.
No for real, who is he? Singer/actress?
40th president.
Naturally I didn't feel inspired enough to read all the links for you, since I already slaved away for long hours under a blistering sun pressing the search button after typing four whole words! - Quzah

Seriously, I dont know why there was ever a big deal about him, he failed to do anything actually useful(the fall of the Soviet Union was bound to happen, Reagan was just at the right place at the right time for the credit to be handed to him).
basically : Reagan == Nixon
END RANT
In the end, I am sad to see him go, not because he was a good president or the like, but all human life is sacred and it is just sort of sad to see someone die from a debilitating disease like AlZheimers.
Got to love political commentary on events from one who was not alive during the time.
by your logic, people should not do political commentary on world war I since they were not alive "during the time".Got to love political commentary on events from one who was not alive during the time
basically, Reagan was dead to alot of people in '94 when no one could doubt he was suffering from AlZheimers. His trickle down economics and defense spending if you trust experts in the financial field were responsible for the depression that Bush Sr. got the blame for(basically, the way bills and such are implemented that it takes a term or so for the affects to start eating their way into the economy).
In short: he wasn't a good president, or medium president, he was just another latter 20th century president.
I feel sorry for him for what he had to endure, and for his family for what they are enduring; however, I do think that with all the good news being spread that the bad news should be also since in the end, we are all only human.
Exactly. Now if you want to give a non-political account of events that happened before, during, and after WWI thats fine.by your logic, people should not do political commentary on world war I since they were not alive "during the time".
And based off of the logic you presented Bush W isn't at fault for the current economy, but Clinton's sinceit takes a term or so for the affects to start eating their way into the economy
"Whatever else history may say about me when I'm gone, I hope it will record that I appealed to your best hopes, not your worst fears" -- Reagan in a speech to Republican National Convention, Aug. 17, 1992.
I wish the same could be said of our current president.
