is there a way of checking what program uses a specific port?

i just enabled my logging on my router, and wow there are so many requests for port 8000(my webserver). but there are all these other port numbers like 6363 and 6346. there's so many of them that i think they could be bogging down my apache port. its not spyware, i just used adaware. help!
