...which means that those last three logos you posted are basically useless.
Naturally I didn't feel inspired enough to read all the links for you, since I already slaved away for long hours under a blistering sun pressing the search button after typing four whole words! - Quzah

    How about this?
(the image was resized from 800by100 to 640by... to fit upload restricions.
    c++->visualc++->directx->opengl->c++;
(it should be realized my posts are all in a light hearted manner. And should not be taken offense to.)

that one's pretty cool too, you guys are a lot better at photoshop'ing (or whatever program you used) than me

Well, I'm working on a news ticker thing right now for the site, I'm slowly moving down in the design of the site.

    It'll be somewhat like this:

LOL jverkoey!!! that looks like one of govtcheez's avatars. hahahahhaha.

P.S. if you have 600 MB of webspace, give it to me. dont use it for nonsensical things like C++ tutorials. I need a place to post my plans for taking over the world.

:d that's what happens when you're too lazy to just use the font tool

I've kind of lost track of what i was doing because of certain things that happened *cough* stupid people *cough* and have kinda lost my inspiration for the moment.....i'll hopefully have something to show by later tonight though. I'm working on a php script that allows you to post news on the news ticker thing and have it get displayed for a while on the ticker.......but my brain is flipping over itself right now cuz i'm not too happy

Sounds like a great idea I would probably make use of the tutorials...I've never quite gotten the hang of windows programming lol

almost got the ticker done........just working on a validation script for it so that it has to be validated before it can be added to the news ticker.

ok, i've got a simple test going of the news ticker, tell me if it's too annoying having it moving at the top of the page all the time:

    http://ftgu.thejefffiles.com/

I've noticed it's kind of distracting, so I might just make it static and allow the user to scroll through it on their own.

note: you can send in your own news ticks if you want and they'll get put in the news ticker as soon as they get validated

Slow the ticker down a little bit and it will be easier to read and less distracting

ok, i fixed the ticker, trying to write up another news script for the main page now....but i'm really sucking at drawing the images and picking the color scheme....so I guess i'll just see what happens. I got rid of the links bar on the left and I'm just going to have all of the links span out from the "quick-links" bar at the top, to simplify things and give more room for the tutorials themselves.

I haven't uploaded the newest stuff yet cuz i'm wiped and heading to bed. Hopefully I'll have the index-page news script finished tomorrow. I'm writing it all up so it's automated with php/sql, so it's taking a bit longer than if i just hacked it together with straight text files or something like that...I'm trying to make the code somewhat expandable so I don't have to worry about it later on.

But yah, I think this might be my pseudo-summer project if I can stay with it long enough. It'll be something fun to do because whenever you write tutorials you always tend to learn a new thing anyways

Maybe some people here might want to write some tutorials for the site too, if you wanted. I'm thinking of eventually also writing up a "tutorial-submitting script" that will allow you to type up the tutorial and submit it for review and then possibly being uploaded. Basically the same way the news ticker works right now....

well, i'm heading off to bed, today's been a busy day!

IMO its still much too fast. It is moving at a rate that it appears jumpy and my eyes can't seem to follow it smoothly. Of course the headache doesn't help
