i remember sunlight left because of an argument with somebody else who claimed an entire 3d engine could be done in 8 or 16 kilobytes of code - well, that was the final nail in the coffin, anyway. i think he was wrong, after all.

    >I'm tired of getting flamed for absolutely no reason when my goal here is to help and to be helped.
It comes with the territory Bubba. Believe it or not, some people don't react well to the truth. You can give them a flawless image of reality and they'll burn you to a crisp for your trouble. The situation only gets worse when matters of opinion enter into the mix.

    >I was getting very fed up and quite honestly...hurt...by some of the cruel posts.
I remember a few (dozen (dozen! )) posts that made me feel exactly the same way. Just between us, and the rest of the board because this post is public , I can remember a few people who nearly brought me to tears with their stinging comments. But you can't force everyone to play nice, and you have to remember that the people you help far outnumber the ones that refuse to be helped or are beyond help.

Glad you decided not to go

You should visit the IRC (assuming you haven't already, since I don't visit as much as I'd like to)

Sure, you might be a master game programmer, but with an attitude like that, no one will care to hire you, or at least keep you for long.

Was xterria banned? Looks like someone is trying to take his place....

I've overstayed my time here at this site, and I really honestly believe that there is nobody here that can really help me with my projects anyway.

    EDIT:

and I just wanted to say that I am a hell of a lot smarter and more talented than most of the people that bad mouth me. To be honest, that's the biggest reason why I've got such a bad attitude towards other people. And I'm not even going into computer science next year. So it's like, on one hand, I've got this incredible, well refined talent with the 3D graphics and programming and very complex, very high-level problem solving (I could pass most computer science courses, but I have yet to graduate high school), but my latest hobbies, talents, and my long term aspirations are in something so totally different from computer science.
    ego much?

seriously though, what have you posted game project or non game project wise that was so great?
Ie- wasn't directly comprised of tutorials at nehe, or gametutorials?

(it should be realized my posts are all in a light hearted manner. And should not be taken offense to.)

There are plenty of people who are waaaay ahead of others. You think programming kids are the only ones ahead of others?

Wow...I don't see what the problem is...I mean since you obviously have at least some talent in programming you shouldn't be complaining. Heck, it could help with a lot of careers, not a specific programming career. But don't listen to me...
