    music videos

I've got a question for making a music video...

On the computer, I'm going to record the song. It's a pre-recorded .mp3 being played, with my voice going into the microphone, recording at the same time as the mp3 being recorded. The mp3 is actually recorded from the computer to the destination file, not via the speakers.

My question is, for the accompanying video. How is this usually done, or what would be a good way to do it? The only things I can think of is:

    a) Play the mp3 and I'll do the lyrics actually while I'm doing the music video

    b) Pretend to sing the lyrics in the video

    c) Any other ideas?

What would work the best for this? For some reason it seems better to somehow have the entire song pre-recorded because if I mess up, I don't have to act out the video over again.

When you record the video you play the song (that already has you singing the lyrics), and you lipsinc as best as you possibly can.
Later in a video editing suite Adobe, Microsoft or who evers, you cut the video as you like it, and take effort to sync up the song with your lip syncing. Thats how its done in industry.

(it should be realized my posts are all in a light hearted manner. And should not be taken offense to.)

Or you just claim that it was edited by whoever dubbed those old Godzilla movies into English.

*Always* record all the audio first. then when you go to make the video, actually sing it along with the clip but dont record any audio. Then match the video to the clip.
