DJGPP Compiler

I am using Windows 2k and am trying to use DJGPP to compile my C programs and keep getting the same error can any one help me?

ERROR IS:

gcc.exe: installation problem, cannot exec 'as': No such file or
directory (ENOENT)

hmmm... check the faq as it has a detailed installation procedure. others have had trouble running my DJGPP compiled demonstrations under win2k, so perhaps it's just not compatible... check out their site too... www.delorie.com/djgpp
