"Magos is an unknown quantity at this point"
What determines this rating (see below the avatar)? I doubt it is the post count cause I've seen people with ~30 posts have the same title as me with 2000+ posts. Just curious, that's all.

Below your name, postcount and wheter you're online, there's a links that says "Add to $USER's reputation". The more people that give you a good rating, the more green squares you get.
BTW, does your reputation affect how many reputation poins someone gets when you add to their reputation?

Yes it does. So if someone with a high rep gives someone positive or negitive rep it affects them more then say if Xterria did it.
I have to spread around reputation before giving to Thantos again

"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Govtcheez again."
How do you get reputation then? By getting good votes on your threads? Ok, new forum game: The one who votes the most 5's on Magos' threads wins!

Ok....here's the way it works:
Everyone has 2 different numbers involving reputation: Their reputation, and their reputation power.
Everyone starts with a reputation of 10. It changes when people vote for or against you.
What your reputation power is depends on a number of factors. You get one point of reputation power for each of the following:
1. Number of compete years registered
2. 1000 posts
3. 100 points of reputation
4. If your reputation is less than 10, you automatically have a reputation power of 0.
The final few limitations on reputation are intended to prevent people from running up their reputation:
1. Users must have several posts before they can give reputation.
2. You may only give out 10 reportation votes per day.
3. You must give reputation to at least 20 people before you can give it to the same person twice.

Just FYI that this is really happening that I only receive answers from at most 10 same people. (You know who they are)
Does the limitation above force me to read other forums (GD etc) and start giving away reputation??
My point is, one these days there will be one thousand and one reasons to disable this reputation feature on this board

this is a good point... I also think that the reputation system should be geared more toward positive reputation, and the amount of negative reputation you can give should be equal to the positive reputation you gave to that person + your (modified) reputation power...
you should definately keep a lower limit, but maybe make in 10 or 15 instead of 20...

I'm sure you'll have quite a change in reputation after this thread, Magos
I don't get why someone gave me a negative reputation for this post, but it's grey, so I think it means it didn't count. Woohoo!Originally Posted by -KEN-

Where can you see who added/removed points from your reputation?
I got a negative message: "just because I can "
I don't want revenge, nor do I want to to [kelso] burn [/kelso] that person.
I just want to buy him/her a drink, have some nice descent conversations. put him/her in my buddy list, etc...
BTW, if it was Kermi3, I probably had it comming
