One of the things I've encountered in Australia but nowhere else, is the customers side of a bar being a urinal, with flushes and drains and everything. You don't need to leave the bar to "make room for another".

It was actually NSW. When I first arrived in Aus, I stayed with an old travelling mate just outside Wollongong. The pub I described was about 20 minutes walk from his house. He called it the diggers rest. Don't think I ever saw a woman in there.
