    Car I bought today.

    As a few of you know, mt old Toyota went for scrap a few months back. Weather is getting better now so time for a new car. Bought this one a couple of hours ago, pictures copied from the dealers site.

    It is a Nissan Sunny. 1.6 litre, twin camshaft ,16 valve, 5 door model.

    that is certainly true...

    congratulations adrian; hope it servers you well. BTW, what year is it, and what is the odo?

    for us Americans, the Nissan Sunny, is like our Sentra....

    >>> How much did ya pay for it?

    I paid 49,900 Kroner. Equivalent to £4,435 or $8,113.

    The price is meaningless outside of Denmark really. What is relevent is the "book" that values cars by year model and so on. This car was 200Kroner over book price, i.e. it was almost exactly right.

    >>> what year is it,

    September 1994

    >>> what is the odo

    143,000km. Equivalent to 88,856 miles, (UK miles - I think US miles are the same).

    This is well under the expected distance for that age. 1 owner from new, non smoker. Full service history. Underbody treated. All the usual electric bits and bobs plus extras including CD player and heated seats.

    >>> Small.

    Why would I want a gas guzzling pollution spewing monster?

    And you're saying that car doesn't spew pollution????

    And I am not saying everyone needs an SUV. I'm just saying that I like cars that are bigger than a Geo Storm.... ya know... I don't like to chew on my knees when I get in a car.

    I'm a marketing manager who lives in the suburbs and commutes to work on the highway. I live alone, so of course I needed a car that can seat 12 and is equipped to drive across arctic tundra...it just makes me feel better!
    Phil and I just had another kid. So of course we need a bigger SUV. Being a mom is hard, with soccer, football and lacrosse practice, so we bought the new Maibatsu Monstrosity. It's so big...we lost little Joey in the back and couldn't find him for an hour! When I'm rushing to the mall, or talking on my cell phone, I know me and my family are safe. The Maibatsu Monstrosity has 4-wheel drive, and in amphibious mode...it can cross rivers. So far I've only hit a few puddles, but it's good to know it's there. With the time I save taking shortcuts through the strip-mall parking lot I can focus on the important things. Like gazing longingly at the pool boy or...buying more exercise equipment off the TV. So what if it gets 3 miles to the gallon!? I'm a mom, not a conservationist!
    Hmm. It doesn't count quotes in the length of your post. Wierd.

    >>$8,113.

    damn, that is pretty freagin expensive for a 94! I paid $11.5K for a brand new Hyundai Elantra with all the options...

    a 94 sentra in the states, even with that ODO, stands at most @ $4K
