    Major Changes to Site

    I have a few announcements to make that may affect you.

    First, we are moving from Cprogramming.com to GeneralProgramming.com. I recently settled a lawsuit with Bell Laboratories. Under the agreement, I ceded all rights to the domain but they will pay for hosting for the next three years at GeneralProgramming.com. This switch will take place on April 10, 2004. Please update your bookmarks.

    In light of this change of focus, we will be adding many new programming boards. In order to accomodate this switch, I will remove extraneous components of the board, including the General Discussions board. Also, to save space on the new server, I will be forced to disable custom avatars as of April 10, 2004. Please make a backup of your avatar if you have not already done so.

    Third, I have agreed to sell your the email addresses you used when you signed up to the message board to Bell Laboratories for an undisclosed sum. All email you receive will be related to C or C++ programming.

    Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

    If you're going to sell my e-mail to outside companies and shift focus away from C/C++, I don't think I can stay here either. It'll be sad to see this place go like that.

    Well I can understand the result of the lawsuit forcing a server move.

    As far as the selling of the emails, IMO thats messed up. I don't give a dang if its related to C programming or not, I do not wish to recieve ANY from bell labs that is not the result of my initating contact with them.
