blegh, i liked the old design better, this one's giving me a headache with all of the buttons and pictures all over the place. I liked the simplicity of the old cboard

And i some ho prefer the avatar and the user info being displayed like in the old version....

Holy hell, this is hard to read. Change the colours!
Such is life.

Apparently your username is only shown, if invisible, to yourself. You can verify this by using runas to open your browser as another user.
sorry to say it, but I'm no real fan of the new theme.
It is possible that VB 3 has some new and better features then VB2 but the skin isn't one of them
BTW: the new post, edit, quote button are too big and don't stroke with the rest of the theme
But I do like the Archive

Definitely there are some neat new features here, but like Magos said in the other thread about the new look, the colours need to be tweaked a little - black text on dark blue is not so cool. I would like to see the user stuff like the avatar and so on back to the side of the post.
Which text are you referring to?Originally Posted by Fountain

I was not given a choice of code tags smiley's or anything.

Left cprog on 1-3-2005. Don't know when I am coming back. Thanks to those who helped me over the years.
Just had to post to see what it's like.
I don't mind the new theme. Old smilies would be good, the colours are buggered on the new ones. Other than that I will like it once I get used to it I think.
Thor's self help tip:
Maybe a neighbor is tossing leaf clippings on your lawn, looking at your woman, or harboring desires regarding your longboat. You enslave his children, set his house on fire. He shall not bother you again.
OS: Windows XP
Compiler: MSVC
Just a test to see if smilies can happen in code tags:
void AClass:isplay( ){ }Code:void AClass::Display( ){ }

Sweet.
Naturally I didn't feel inspired enough to read all the links for you, since I already slaved away for long hours under a blistering sun pressing the search button after typing four whole words! - Quzah

OMG that makes up for all the other crap
Code::p ;) :D :confused: :o :eek:
maybe im alone on this but cprog has always had a professional, simplistic theme and feel to it, and now it looks like every wannabe forum on the internet. This board version really sucks.
I'm with you 200% on that. Isn't there a way for the webmaster to upgrade/keep all the new goodies but still retain the old theme/color scheme? I personally don't mind some of the new options, but again I dislike many of them as well.Originally Posted by RoD
The color scheme and new look is bad.
I don't mind the new code tag boxes, but HATE - HATE - HATE the code tag boxes when you have so much code that it decides to create a scroll bar for you. EWWWWWW. That's just too confined and restricted. When viewing a post from another, all the new interaction buttons(mainly the searching ones and ones that provide information faster) are kind of neat, and it's looking a lot better now that the user's name and information is left justified as it was before. No smilies in code what-so-ever is neat.
The old layout was better though, IMO, far better.
The world is waiting. I must leave you now.
I freaking love the code boxes. No more having to worry about somebody posting a 500 character line or 1000 lines of code.Originally Posted by Shadow
Thantos, I agree completely. I hated when I'd have to scroll over three screens just to be able to read a person's post.
