I timed it, you have about 3.77 seconds to make a throw.

I timed that it also takes about .90 seconds to get the spear to 45 degrees. So if you can, try to start rotating the spear after 2.87 seconds, and don't release until the time right before the foul. This is my most efficient method.

I think you're allowed to step once past the rocks, so that's how I think a higher score is possible.

my best throws came when the spear was just touching the shade of the top lava part. Of course, you need to release at that very last moment before a foul, but it has to go right in that spat (look at pic below)....I've never gotten into the top 10 but I can regularly hit 34.x's I'm tired of this game and refuse to play any longer.

Try my theory out, and get your perfect spots to wind and then throw the spear.
