    Question A Java Board

It's nothing but just a simple proposal, so please don't get mad at me but because of the growing popularity of java and many of us also program in java, I was wondering if it is possible to have a java board in this forum ???

How many times is this going to be asked and how many times do we have to remind you that this is a C board. You don't have to have one home for programming help, ya know. Branch out. It's like finding new friends. It's not that hard.

I know this site is about C programming. But many times questions have been asked (and answered ) on java in the General Discussion board. That's why I was thinking why not then having a seperate board.

Anyway I think I've got my answer

Well, technically we have a C# board. C# is most like Java than C or C++. But I suppose it meets the requirement of having a C in the name.

This idea has been floated many times. The webmaster decided that this is a C/C++ board and that's where the focus should be. There are many other wonderful sites out there that focus on Java.

I don't particularly care either way, but I wouldn't have any use for it, so I voted 'no'...

JAVA is a very fun toy. There is no doubt about it. JAVA was the first real (or at least semi-real) language that I had learned (unless PERL counts as a real language--which I don't count it). But the fact is this is a site for c programming. Besides I don't see any vb forums. I don't see any pascal forums. I don't see any HTML forums or fortran forums or assembler forums (which by the way if cprogramming.com did deside a different direction an assembler forum would have my vote). The point is I can sit here all day listing off both mainstream and obscure programming languages that this site doesn't have on it. Why aren't they here? because they are not C.

I asked the same question once but now I see the point behind having the focus kept on "C" languages. Flashdaddee has many different forums, and cover a very wide variety, and has a lot of the same users. But I'm afraid I'm going to vote no on this one.

    AND NO!

i think the reason why people are asking these questions now is because they got rid of C++ from all school curriculums and replaced it with Java and now we're getting more and more java people out there. just ........es me off

I dont think its a good idea to make a board for java

it's better for the board to concentrate on C/C++ and so i voted no
