    SmartFTP glitch?

I used SmartFTP to upload a bunch of files at the same time. I thought the process was succesful until later I found out that it didn't tansfer all the files. (It wasn't obvious the first time since I have nested folders with files.)
So, I'm considering another free FTP program, that you guys know will work well, any suggestion?

the command line (2K, XP) is free

I've also noticed problems when you want to transfer several files. It doesn't like doing it completely.

However, I have yet to find a FTP utility that beats smartftp in terms of features and useability.

    WS_FTP LE

works great and has been perfected since 1998

www.ipswitch.com (legally free, LE stands for Lite Edition)

http://www.ftpplanet.com/downloadLE.asp <-- quicker link to download

the only problem i have with this thing is: theres no option to be able to delete folders with files in them. Thats all. Its easy to CHMOD and Move and Rename, with simple click-and-drag, its a great free FTP untiul you buy Pro8, which is imo one the easyest and best FTP programs in the world, WS_FTP hasn't failed me yet today, and ive been using for years.

That's what I'm trying right now. The interface is not intuitive at all, but I'm gonna give it a try. I couldn't figure out how to chmod. Right click->FTP commands->??

Right click on the file / folder, it's there. I like WS_FTP too, imho, it's the best [free] one.

Well, if you want an open source one, I would recommend FileZilla

That said, SmartFTP probably just messed up in your case for some unfortunate reason.

i remember trying to use 3DFTP, its an FTP app with a wicked GUI, but it costs money for the real deal and needs updated DirectX (which i cant have unfortunatly, win98 and a vintage machine, you see)
